The Stabilization Centre is a 24-hour, unlocked, four bed program that will accommodate children/youth ages 12-18 for up to a ten-week period. There may be a possibility to extend beyond the four-bed capacity and/or to extend past the 10-week period if clinically manageable and if in the best interest for the child/youth and their period of transition. Clinical interventions will focus on assisting families and care providers in understanding contributing factors and resolving crises using conflict resolution techniques, while anticipating future problems and capacity for future effective responses. The resource will partner through an ISD lens with the clinical teams in the Zones to offer services to children/youth ages 12-18 focusing on:

  • Complex trauma response and intervention
  • Mental Health Services
  • Neurodevelopmental
  • Conflict resolution
  • Community treatment planning
