We are thrilled to introduce Holly, a dedicated and compassionate therapist at Restigouche Family Services, leading our new program: Sacred Bundles: Indigenous Counselling Services Grounded in First Nations Culture.
Holly Miller is a Licensed Clinical Counsellor Candidate with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick and a proud Mi’kmaq woman from the Ugpi’gangij First Nation. Her roots trace back to Jacquet River, New Brunswick, where she spent much of her upbringing. After several years away, Holly felt a profound connection pulling her back to Mi’kma’ki, where she now focuses on integrating her cultural heritage into her therapeutic practice.
Holly holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology from St. Thomas University. She works with both adults and children (ages ten and above), supporting those facing challenges such as trauma, limiting beliefs, and life-altering experiences. She offers a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their truths.
Her therapeutic approach is holistic and culturally grounded, incorporating both Western psychotherapy methods and Indigenous ways of healing. Techniques she employs include:
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Strength-Based Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
- Trauma-Informed Care
Holly leads the Sacred Bundles program at RFS, bringing her vision to life by offering culturally grounded services that support her community. Through this initiative, she provides:
- Cultural workshops
- Youth sharing circles
- Land-based healing
- Culturally sensitive one-on-one counselling
Join Holly in exploring a holistic path to wellness that honors both the mind and the spirit through culturally respectful therapeutic practices.
